American Legion Post 316 South Cherokee County

Welcome to American Legion Post 316, serving the needs of our Veterans and Active Duty personnel in the South Cherokee County area from our home in Woodstock, Georgia.

Boys State and Girls State

At Georgia Boys State we make up the 51st state and the delegates (boys) must form their own city government to start with, and this includes things such as budget, and elected officials. Then they began forming their county governments with elections and then the third phase is the forming of the state government and the election of a Georgia Boys State Governor.

All of the things that go into running government are in countered during this five day intense program of learning about government by being the government.

During this week these young men are being observed and looked at by various members of the staff and two will be selected to attend Boys Nation where they will do the same things only at the national level. This is the premier program that the American Legion supports and allows us to instill in these young leaders the world they will grow into tomorrow.
